Try to attend some school sponsored events like football games, etc. Some of the most fun that people have in college is routing for their sporting teams at their college. It is always a great time to get together with your fellow classmates in the student section and scream your head off for your college!

If it is your first time away from home, don't fear calling your parents. Though you may feel embarrassed, they love you. If something is scary or overwhelming, they are still your greatest allies. Otherwise, consider an older sibling or close friend. Sometimes, life can seem overwhelming. Older people really do understand.

If you are not staying in dorms, consider carpooling with other students. You should be able to find others that are staying in the same area as you. You will likely not be able to carpool every day of the week with the same people, but even a few days will help build relationships.

Mind your pennies, and your dollars will take care of themselves. Realize that there are many excellent free activities all over campus. Take good advantage of them to have fun, learn and experience new things and save a ton of money. The activities offered in a college setting are unlike those offered at any other place and time in your life, so be sure to make the most of the opportunities you have at your fingertips to build great college memories.
